This polypropylene thread adapter allows for the simple connection of a ball valve (drain tap) to various drum or container threads. Specifically, the adapter features a ¾″ (G 3/4″) female thread, compatible with the inlet thread of standard commercial ball valves. This means that a ¾″ ball valve can be securely screwed into a drum opening without the need for special tools. Made of robust, chemically resistant PP, the adapter withstands the influences of the filled medium and ensures a leak-tight connection. With this adapter, attaching a drain tap to a drum or jerrycan becomes quick and easy – it creates the standardised connection between different thread types.

Typical application area of the product

Wherever a drain tap needs to be retrofitted onto a drum or jerrycan – for example, to conveniently dispense liquids from a storage drum via a ball valve. In chemical storage, this adapter enables drums containing acids or alkalis to be quickly fitted with a tap without having to open the drum. In workshops or laboratories, solvent drums can be handled more safely: instead of decanting each time, liquid can be dispensed directly through the tap. In the food industry (e.g. syrup or oil drums), the adapter also makes it possible to install hygienic PP taps. The ball valve thread adapter is therefore a small but essential accessory for connecting different thread standards and significantly improving workflow when handling liquids.
