About EcoVadis, the assessment criteria, and our results
Sustainability, ethical collaboration, and human rights are highly valued at Bürkle! Transparent communication about these topics is very important to us. That’s why we chose to be evaluated by EcoVadis – so you can view our results in a clear and time-efficient way.
What is EcoVadis?
EcoVadis is an international platform for sustainability ratings and intelligence, supporting more than 100,000 companies in improving their sustainability performance and optimizing their value chains. In addition, EcoVadis helps manage ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) risks and compliance (a business and legal term for adherence to rules by companies), as well as evaluate sustainability practices within the supply chain. Bürkle was already assessed by EcoVadis in 2023, and we are pleased to share our results with you again this year.
Advantages of an EcoVadis-rated company
The classification is a great advantage for suppliers, customers and partners. Anyone interested in working with Bürkle can quickly and easily access our risk screening and risk analysis and view our ratings and scorecards without having to contact us. Thanks to the clear categorization by medals, the performance of each company can be compared with others.
Evaluation criteria
EcoVadis monitors a total of four areas, in each of which a minimum of 30 points must be achieved in order to receive a medal.

Gold medal
We are delighted to have been awarded the gold medal in 2024 - a recognition that only the top 5% of all companies receive.
We were already awarded silver in our first assessment in 2023, an achievement that many only reach after revaluation.
We are all the more proud of this year's gold medal.

What does that signify
The EcoVadis medal is awarded to companies that have successfully completed the EcoVadis assessment process and demonstrate a sustainable management system aligned with the EcoVadis methodology. Additionally, recipients must fulfil specific licensing and accreditation requirements.
We achieved the gold medal with the following scores:
- Environment > 70 points
- Labour and human rights > 80 points
- Ethics > 70 points
- Sustainable procurement > 70 points
Our scorecard
The EcoVadis scorecards enable a quick and efficient review of a company's strengths, measures and results.
We are very pleased with the good rating we received in all four areas. For example, we achieved very good results for our labor and human rights policies in the areas of diversity, equality and inclusion.
We have improved in all sustainability assessment areas compared to the previous year.
In our listed sector ‘Manufacture of plastic goods’, we are even among the top 2%.
