It has a standard thread (S 50 × 4, DIN 50) suitable for the wide opening of flat canisters and allows air to flow into the canister during pouring or filling. This prevents glugging or unwanted pressure build-up, ensuring the liquid flows smoothly and without interruption. The screw cap includes a manually operated vent valve for air pressure equalization. Since venting is not automatic, the valve must be opened manually during emptying to let air in and ensure a consistent, smooth flow of liquid.
