What use is the high precision of modern analytical systems in the PPB range, if sampling and sample division are not carried out with the same degree of accuracy?

Inadequate sampling and sample division result in unsatisfactory and even incorrect analyses. These are worthless, or unnecessarily expensive because a wrong analysis can only produce incorrect results from which any conclusions obtained are “paid for dearly”.

Reliable information about the properties of particle systems involving powders are only possible if

1. representative all-layer samples are taken with a suitable sampler.

2. the sample quantity, which is usually far too large, is reduced to a practical sample size while precisely retaining the original composition.

TheRepro high precision sample divider meets these demands for the first time, thereby setting a new standard worldwide. The Repro's patented vibration system allows reproducible sample divisions < 1 g with the highest degree of accuracy.

What is the difference between the Repro and conventional sample dividers?

In the Repro, it is not just the feed channel that vibrates, but the complete distributor head. In this way, samples and particularly poorly flowing substances such as lactose are transported better in the vibrating distributor head. As in all great inventions, this is a small but crucial advantage, which is why this principle has been patented! This new technique has decisive advantages if small, very small or toxic samples have to be divided and/or the highest degree of accuracy is required for the sample division which must also be reproducible. This is why our sample divider is called Repro!

Customer-specific sample containers

The Repro conforms to your wishes. You can still use your usual sample tubes of all shapes and sizes (max. Ø 30 mm, height 73 mm). The sample containers are simply inserted in the quick-action clamps of the distributor head.

Sample division in a fume cupboard

The sample divider and control unit are separate, which makes possible a sample division in a fume cupboard, e.g. with toxic substances.

The protective cabinet

allows sample division of toxic substances even without a fume cupboard in a safe room – for the protection of the operating personnel

Cleaning function/residue removal

ensures residue-free emptying of the feed channel and the distributor head and guarantees that the whole of the original sample amount is fed through the sample divider. Nothing is retained - which is the only way of ensuring that all of the original sample is contained in all the part-samples.

Vibration steplessly adjustable

The strength of vibration of the feed channel and distributor head can be set steplessly between 0 % and 100 %. This means that the material flow, depending on the flow behaviour of the sample, can be controlled during the whole division process.

The pre-divider prevents agglomeration

Greasy or moist bulk materials tend to form agglomerates. These disturb the continuous flow of the sample in the feed channel to the divider head. They may result in the sample division not working accurately. The heavily vibrating pre-divider largely destroys the agglomerates and provides a fully uniform structure. The pre-divider is an indispensable accessory if agglomerates must be divided. It is attached with little effort instead of the filling funnel.

Laser diffraction

A typical field of application for the new Repro has opened up in particle size analysis by laser diffraction spectroscopy. Sample amounts of < 0.1 g are used for analyses in the laboratory. The Repro vastly improves the reproducibility and meaningfulness of the results.

Easy handling

The operation and handling of the device is simple. The sample tubes are easily and quickly inserted in the self-locking holders and sample division can start immediately. Operation takes place via a membrane-protected keyboard.

High quality materials

All parts coming into contact with the sample are made of stainless steel and aluminium equipped with an abrasion-resistant non-stick coating for ideal sample transport. The housing is made of electro-polished stainless steel.

Summary

Samples divided with the high-performance sample divider Repro are characterised by a significantly lower variation between all part-samples. As a result of the vibration of all device components transporting samples, the sample is distributed and divided considerably more evenly and therefore more exact than was previously possible. The cleaning function guarantees complete sample removal, the sample is divided down to the last particle. In this way, the Repro defines a new technological standard and should always be used wherever the best possible analytical results are required.

Only when all the links in the sampling chain, sample division and analysis are of the same strength will the results and the conclusions drawn from them lead to success.
